NEIGHBORHOOD CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS (NCI)

The Neighborhood Capital Improvement (NCI) – Central Area project focused on improving critical public infrastructure and streetscape conditions throughout Chicago’s central neighborhoods. Completed in coordination with the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT), the project addressed roadway, sidewalk, and pedestrian improvements aimed at enhancing safety, accessibility, and long-term infrastructure performance within high-traffic urban areas. Work included roadway resurfacing, concrete sidewalk and curb replacement, ADA-compliant ramp installations, pavement markings, drainage improvements, traffic control upgrades, and streetscape enhancements throughout the project area. The improvements were designed to modernize aging infrastructure, improve pedestrian mobility, and support the continued growth and connectivity of the surrounding neighborhoods and business districts.
