Commercial Ave and 92nd St are commercial corridors serving the South Chicago neighborhood. These corridors contain a mix of uses including residential, retail, and commercial. Local community members stressed the importance of the steel mills as being a rich component of the neighborhood’s history. This feedback was used as inspiration for the design of the light pole identifiers and commemorative bronze plaques.
